Stalwarts of Torrington bowling

Those who know Torrington and especially its bowling green high in the centre of the Torridge valley will need no introduction to these stalwarts of the Club.

On the left is 84 year old Mr W. Wilson and at his side Mr F.W. (‘Maister’) Hodge aged 81. It used to be said that bowls was an old man’s game although that idea has long since been dispelled, and rightly so, but it can be safely claimed it keeps its players young!
